Having been diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s, I am always looking for information regarding this disease. It gives me hope to know that so much work is being done with clinical trials, nutrition, to finding a cure. I found an absolutely fascinating article, or so I thought! 🙂 regarding a study that is investigating whether lifestyle changes can help reduce risks as related to genetics in our families.
Check out an article written in News Medical Life Sciences website. Here’s the link: ” The article talks about “A recent two-year clinical trial in Finland (the FINGER Study) reported that a combination of physical activity, nutritional guidance, cognitive training, social activities and management of heart health risk factors protected cognition in healthy older adults who were identified as being at increased risk of cognitive decline. Currently no pharmacological treatments are available that rival this effect.” It quotes “A recent two-year clinical trial in Finland (the FINGER Study) reported that a combination of physical activity, nutritional guidance, cognitive training, social activities and management of heart health risk factors protected cognition in healthy older adults who were identified as being at increased risk of cognitive decline.” I found it fascinating and wanted to share with you.
